The Procurement Intelligence Unit (PIU) is delighted to sponsor the People Development award at next week's Procurement Leaders Awards. The PIU team and I wish all the shortlisted companies the very best of luck in this hotly contested award category.
People development is at the core of tomorrow's procurement and it is essential that as a profession we look to develop the procurement leaders of the next 20 years. The PIU has conducted research which correlates investment in talent against the capabilities of companies' procurement functions.
Our research report, Talent Management: Strategies for Generation Next, found that training in a diverse range of competencies is key to shaping the leadership of the future. Leaders in procurement are no longer simply looking to enhance purchasing skills, but are developing talent that can both lead and innovate.
We understand that there were a large number of nominations in the People Development category, so we offer our congratulations to all the shortlisted companies for progressing to the final stage of the awards process.
